The Somalia NGO Consortium is currently hosted by CARE International. CARE provides the legal frameowork and administrative support to the Consortium's personnel.

The Consortium is represented by a Director who sits in Mogadishu and regularly travels to the different regions of Somalia. There are two Regional Representatives based in Hargeisa and Mogadishu. As well as three field officer based in Garowe, Baidao and Kismayo. The Secretariat comprises the Director,  Executive Assistant, Senior Finance & Admin Officer,  Senior Information Management Officer, Senior Advocacy and Information Officer, Program Officer and a Membership and Communications Officer, as well as support staff shared with INSO Somalia.

The Consortium is overseen by a Steering Committee elected annually by members. At Regional level, Regional Advisory Boards provide support to the regional representatives and are elected from the membership on an annual basis. The hosting agencies have a permanent seat on the Boards.

With support from the Regional representatives, the Director plays a key role in working with all stakeholders in support of joint approaches and solutions to pertinent Somali issues, facilitating information sharing and coordination. The Director represents members to governments, the UN agencies and the international community. He is also responsible for the efficient functioning of the secretariat including management of consortium expenditure.

The Consortium exists through its members. All members influence all structures / positions at any given time.

REGIONAL ADVISORY BOARDS

The Regional Advisory Boards (ABs) act as voluntary NGO Boards which represent the views of the wider Consortium and the broader Somalia NGO Community. The ABs support the Regional Focal Points. Members of the AB are elected annually by the membership and as such accountable to members.
